Heaven has a New Blogger: Taylor Siluwé

My heart is filled with such sadness as I have to announce that our community has lost another member. New Jersey-based author Taylor Siluwé died Sunday afternoon at home after losing his battle to lung cancer at 43-years-old.
Siluwé was the author of several novels of erotica, such as Dancing With The Devil, A Taste for Cherries and Cheesy Porn and Other Fairytales. Siluwé also wrote short stories, essays and blogged about LGBT news, activism and gay life at SGLCafe.com.

Taylor you will be missed and it was really nice to get that email from you just last week saying that you loved me brother and the words I shared with you were truly from my heart! You were a huge inspiration for the Christopher Street TV series and were on set as a background player for our pilot, which meant so much to me… I have great memories or brunch in the Village and hearing stories on how you support me even when the community was not on my side... Thank you for not judging me and being there in that time of need. It meant a lot to me.

I know you are still blogging up there in heaven… Love you!!!

In Memory of Dariel Pulliam

Photobucket

I am so sad to report news that I have prayed was not true all day… The Future Forward’s friend and fellow gaylebrity Dariel Pulliam has passed away on today and he will be greatly missed. I have many memories of Dariel Pulliam; however the one that I will cherish the most is of him giving me love advice over frozen drinks at BBQ’s. Dariel you showed me so much love when presenting at the 2010 Blatino Awards and being the first presenter to show up on time and beat from head to toe really showed your professional attitude and passion for others… You will be greatly missed; however I know that you are with our father looking down on us all. I love you my brother, my friend, and fellow STAR!

Please check out the fun interview I did with Dariel on last summer, I had such a great time with him.

Also please lend a hand by assisting his family with his burial at:

PO BOX 47001 Windsor Mill, MD 21244

For More Details contact: Sparkle for Trio Management sparkle@trioent.com Our prayers and thoughts are with Dariel Pulliam’s family, friends, and loved ones!

If you knew where I am standing... If you could see the sights I see... If you could hear the angels singing... The songs they sing eternally... If you knew the One I’m holding... Could see the smile He smiles at me... If you knew where I am resting... You would not cry for me... I’m resting in the precious arms of Jesus... No other place would I rather be... So if you shed a tear, Please don’t shed it for me... If you knew where I am resting... You would not cry for me... I know you’re confused about my leaving you so soon... But I’ll be with you again... Maybe morning, night or noon... So I’ll save a place for you.... Right beside the crystal sea... If you knew where my mansion’s standing... You would not cry for me

Body of ART

I always love to have the opportunity to admire someone's art and I really love when the art is displayed on a VERY sexy canvas. Ricardo Muniz is a very talented photographer and artist and his latest video has really been creating quite a buzz on the internet. Take a moment to admire his work and contact him to purchase your very own portrait of these sexy specimens. ABOUT Ricardo Muniz:
"Coquíchulo Images was created to provide artistic support of my own Latino community. I was a social worker and teacher working with people with severe issues for over 15 years. Before I decided to pursue my art—photography, puppetry, and body painting—I devoted myself and my work to help foster creativity and success within communities of color. I will say that my greatest work as an artist has been while working as a teacher. No job molds, shapes, creates, supports, directs, inspires and enables young people more than that of being a good and caring teacher. I made it a point to smile often as a teacher and as a social worker. I make it a point now to have fun while doing a shoot. Laughter goes far. At the end of the day, it’s not just a great shot that makes me smile: it’s looking back at the fun all of us had while creating it. For more information on the artist or the models or to volunteer your nekkid skin as a canvas for a body art project, please contact Ricardo Muñiz at coquichuloimages@yahoo.com. Dishin it With Dwight: A New Earth with Oprah, Jay-Z, and Abdul

UPDATE--- UPDATE--- UPDATE---IT WAS FOR OWN!!!!

Oprah and Jay-Z's "New Earth"

Rumors are flying all over the net about The FUTURE’s very own honorary member Oprah Winfrey visiting Sean “Jay-Z” Carter’s old neighborhood in Brooklyin, NY. Jay and Oprah visited Bed Stuy on Lexington Ave. & Lewis Ave. Jay’s block before moving to Marcy Projects; but then spent some time in Marcy Projects. The rumor is that Oprah was filming for an upcoming show that Jay will be featured on and Jay was showing her where he came up; if you also look closely in the photo you will see that Jay is holding in his hand “A New Earth,” which is an amazing book that Oprah has supported with her book club. A New Earth written by Eckhart Tolle assist readers in creating their life’s purpose and it challenges you to look within yourself and make decisions that truly transform your way of thinking in return creating “a new earth” for you and those around you. With this book being in his hand I wonder did Oprah bring him a copy? Is Jay currently reading it? Or was he trying to impress Ms. Winfrey? Regardless of why he is holding the book if you want an awakening in you and want to start creating new possibilities for your own life you must read “A New Earth,” it changed my life.

A New Earth
Tolle tells us there is good news, however. There is an alternative to this potentially dire situation. Humanity now, perhaps more than in any previous time, has an opportunity to create a new, saner, more loving world. This will involve a radical inner leap from the current egoic consciousness to an entirely new one.In illuminating the nature of this shift in consciousness, Tolle describes in detail how our current ego-based state of consciousness operates. Then gently, and in very practical terms, he leads us into this new consciousness. We will come to experience who we truly are—which is something infinitely greater than anything we currently think we are—and learn to live and breathe freely.

My Personal Inspiration: Jason Bartlett

What better way to end the month than to recognize an individual who is African American, openly gay, a father, and has served as a political figure for our country. I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Jason Bartlett at a conference that we were both presenting at in West Palm Beach and I was instantly swept away with his charm. When meeting this very intelligent gentleman I was delighted to learn of all his accomplishments and to learn how humble and kind he is. I am the most excited to honor Jason Bartlett as my final inspiration for Black History Month and I challenge each of you to discover your own inspirations for your individual lives.

Jason Bartlett is an American businessman and politician from Connecticut. A Democrat, he was a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011, representing the state's second district in Bethel, Danbury and Redding. He was defeated for re-election on November 2, 2010.

Bartlett was raised in Redding and graduated from Redding Public Schools, before earning a B.A. in political science from the University of Connecticut.

He was elected a state representative in 2006, defeating Republican Phil Gallagher by 4,112 votes (54 percent) to 3,524 (46 percent). In 2008, Bartlett was re-elected to a second term, polling 54% — a margin of 945 votes. In 2010, Bartlett faced Republican Dan Carter and was defeated.

He had previously run in 2002 and 2004, losing on both occasions to Republican Hank Bielawa. He lost by over 450 votes in 2002, but the 2004 result was exceptionally close — Bartlett lost by just 87 votes, with 49.6 percent of the vote to Bielawa's 50.4 percent.

For over a decade, Bartlett has owned and operated his own mortgage company. He is the owner of Connecticut First Capitol in Bethel as well as a restaurant in Hartford. Bartlett is no longer with the mortgage company he owned and operated, and now works for the National Black Justice Coalition, a non-profit dedicated to ending racism and homophobia by empowering black lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people.

He raised two sons, the children of his deceased uncle and aunt. Now 21 and 19 years old and both attending community college in Connecticut, they came to live with him when they were 11 and 9 respectively.

Bartlett is gay. Although his district is 96 percent white, Bartlett is African American. He served for a time as the country's only openly gay black state legislator, a distinction he lost when Simone Bell was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in December 2009.
